WoW Forever Cozy Sleeping Bag: Step-by-Step Quest & XP Guide
Find the Cozy Sleeping Bag with faction starting points, quest coordinates, the final Thoradin’s Wall climb and a practical guide to its experience bonus.
Checked November 3, 2026 · WoW: Forever beta · Alliance and Horde route.
The Cozy Sleeping Bag is a reusable reward for a quest chain that sends you across both continents. It gives you a small experience bonus whenever you take time to rest in it. There is no merchant shortcut: follow the notes, find the hidden camp and climb to the final stash at Thoradin’s Wall.
This walkthrough separates the faction starting points, names the objects you need at each stop and explains how to get all three experience stacks before returning to your quests.
Your target is three full minutes of rest for +3% experience. In the checked beta, the buff lasts two hours, while the item has a one-hour cooldown. Those are separate timers.
Before you travel: rewards and preparation
| Detail | What to know |
|---|---|
| Starting level | 14; eligibility does not make every part of the journey safe |
| Factions | Alliance and Horde; the first two stops have opposite orders |
| Main reward | A reusable Cozy Sleeping Bag |
| Experience bonus | +1% per minute, stacking three times for +3% |
| Beta timers | Two-hour buff, one-hour item cooldown |
| Extra reward | Stepping Stones offers Old Toolbox, a 12-slot bag |
Make room in your bags, bring supplies and check your Hearthstone destination. Combining this chain with useful flight paths or a trip with friends can make the travel more worthwhile. Low-level characters should give opposing-faction guards plenty of room.
Reading the coordinates: every pair belongs to the zone named beside it. The positions are approximate; use the landmark and object name as well. Our diagrams show the sequence of stops, rather than a scaled in-game map. Select any diagram to open the larger image.
Original G2U route diagram. Both factions visit both starting locations; only their order changes.
Step 1. Find your first note
Alliance: Westfall
Head to Alexston Farmstead, around 37, 50 in Westfall. Look for the wrecked cart and the clickable Burned-Out Remains. Interact with them to accept …and that note you found.
You are looking for an object on the ground, rather than an NPC with a quest marker. Check that the quest is in your log before you leave the farm.
Horde: the Barrens
Your first stop is the burned tower south of Camp Taurajo, around 46, 74 in the Barrens. Find the Burned-Out Remains among the ruins and accept …and that note you found.
The destinations are the same for both factions. Horde simply starts at the tower and visits Westfall next.
Step 2. Visit the other starting location
Cross to the other continent and find the second set of remains:
- Alliance: travel from Westfall to the burned tower in the Barrens, 46, 74.
- Horde: travel from the Barrens to the wrecked cart at Alexston Farmstead in Westfall, 37, 50.
Complete the first note quest at the objects near the wreckage and accept Stepping Stones. A Nailed Plank is also part of the interactions around this section. If several objects are available, inspect their quest windows and your log: Stepping Stones is the quest you want before heading to the mountains.
Choose a crossing that suits your unlocked routes. Cutting through a hostile settlement for a straighter line can cost more time than taking the safer way around.
Step 3. Find the hidden Stonetalon camp
Both factions now follow the same route. In Stonetalon Mountains, look for the trail near 50.9, 52.3, close to Sun Rock Retreat. Follow it uphill to the hidden camp around 40.6, 52.4.
Find Pocket Litter near the tent and crates. Complete Stepping Stones, inspect the available reward and accept Scramble. Remember to check your bags for Old Toolbox, the useful bag reward from this stage.
A schematic, not an in-game map. The next objective is nearby: do not Hearthstone away immediately after the camp turn-in.
Rekindle, the campfire quest, is optional for obtaining the sleeping bag. The required continuation from this camp is Scramble.
Step 4. Reach the Mound of Dirt
Move north from the camp, climb the hill and look for the Mound of Dirt on the slope around 39.6, 49.8.
Locate your landing spot with the camera before jumping toward the ledge. Complete Scramble at the mound, then accept Wet Job. If you fall, work your way back to the climb; falling does not mean restarting the whole chain.
Check the log before setting off again. Having Wet Job confirms that you have finished the required Stonetalon stops.
Step 5. Find the figurine at Stonewrought Dam
Go to Stonewrought Dam at the northern end of Loch Modan, around 49.4, 12.9.
The objective is on a ledge on the Wetlands-facing side, by the carved stone heads. Look for the Carved Figurine, complete Wet Job and accept Eagle’s Fist.
Aim for the dam ledge, not the ground far below. Check the drop before moving: missing the ledge can send you into the Wetlands and add a long return trip. Horde characters should take particular care around the approach, since Loch Modan is Alliance territory.
Step 6. Climb Thoradin’s Wall
Travel to the boundary between Hillsbrad Foothills and Arathi Highlands. Approach the climb from the Hillsbrad side. Look for the broken cart and rubble around 87.3, 49.6 on the Hillsbrad map.
Use the cart and ledges to climb the wall, then enter the upper room. Interact with the Messenger Bag, complete Eagle’s Fist and accept This Must Be The Place.
Treat the climb as a series of small moves. After each successful jump, stop and line up the next ledge with your camera. A careful attempt is usually more useful than immediately repeating the same rushed jump.
Step 7. Collect the sleeping bag
Stay in the same camp on the wall. Beside and below the Messenger Bag, find the Hastily Rolled-Up Satchel. Interact with it to finish This Must Be The Place.
Collect the Cozy Sleeping Bag and check your inventory before leaving. Once you have the reward, you do not need to return to this wall to use it.

How to get the full +3% experience bonus
Choose a safe place, use the item and step onto the sleeping bag. Stay still and watch Well-Rested: each full minute adds another stack.
| Rest time | Experience bonus | Ready to move on? |
|---|---|---|
| One full minute | +1% | Yes, but the bonus is not at its maximum |
| Two full minutes | +2% | Another minute will add the third stack |
| Three full minutes | +3% | Yes — check that all three stacks are present |
Use a genuine break to refresh the bonus: waiting for friends, planning your next route or pausing between quest loops. Three minutes of resting does not automatically improve experience per hour if it repeatedly interrupts an otherwise productive session.
Party members can use the deployed sleeping bag too. Before leaving, check your own buff rather than assuming that being near someone else’s bag gave you every stack. After client updates, use the current Well-Rested tooltip to confirm the duration in your game version.
Student Fodder is not the Season of Discovery rested-XP reward. In Forever it restores health and resources; do not carry over the old advice to consume it for bars of rested experience. It is separate from the sleeping bag’s percentage bonus.
Frequently asked questions
Should I do the chain exactly at level 14?
No. That is the minimum starting level, rather than a recommended deadline. If enemy territory and the travel feel too dangerous, return later or bring friends.
Why is my bonus below 3%?
Check the stack count. One full minute provides only +1%; reaching the maximum requires three. Leaving early does not turn a partial interval into another stack.
Is the Stonetalon campfire required?
The optional campfire quest is not required for the sleeping bag. Your main route continues with Scramble, then Wet Job.
Why does another guide list different wall coordinates?
The wall sits between two zones. Coordinates recorded on the Arathi map cannot be looked up directly on the Hillsbrad map. Our 87.3, 49.6 marker describes the Hillsbrad Foothills approach.
